That hurt him inside, even when he tried to appear strong.
Some days, he felt sad because he could not do certain things as easily as others: playing like them, running like them, or using his hands the way they do. Sometimes he needed help with simple daily tasks, and that made him feel even more different.
The challenges were not only social, but also physical. He had to learn special ways to do things: how to dress himself, how to eat, and how to deal with the world in his own way. Simple things for other people required a lot of patience from him.
As time passed, his mother began to understand that the reason for his condition was something beyond his control and beyond hers. Perhaps it was a rare problem that happened while he was developing in her womb, or a rare congenital condition that sometimes occurs in some children. It was not his fault, and it was not anyone’s fault.
But despite all of this, one thing never changed: his spirit.
He smiled a lot, loved joking with his family, and tried to live his life as normally as possible. Sometimes he laughed like a child when he joked with his siblings or family members, and sometimes he repeated funny words just to make the people around him smile.
That is why his mother wrote in her message:
“Some people will judge you without knowing you, just because you’re different…”
She knew that some people would judge him only because of how he looked, without seeing his heart or his personality.
Then she continued:
Happy birthday, my son! 💔 Some people will judge you without knowing you, just because you're different… But in your eyes lives a light they'll never understand.
