1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup milk

Optional: dried fruits (raisins, cherries, apricots), chopped

Instructions:

1. Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F). Grease and flour a dome-shaped cake pan (you can also use a bowl-safe pan to get the dress shape).

2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

3. Cream butter and sugar: In a separate large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.

4. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Then mix in the vanilla extract.

5. Combine wet and dry: Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture in batches, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined. Fold in dried fruits if using.

6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.

7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

8. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely.

Decorating the Baby Dress Cake:

Once the cake is cool:

Cover it with buttercream or fondant.

Shape the fondant to look like a baby dress with ruffles, bows, and maybe small edible pearls.

Add a small doll torso on top (if desired) to complete the “dress” look.
