Main Ingredients
1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7)
8 hot dog buns
1½ cups (170 g) freshly grated sharp cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese
½ cup low-sodium tomato sauce or mild salsa
Seasoning
1 tablespoon avocado oil (or another cooking oil)
1 packet taco seasoning or:
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
1. Cook the Beef
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it into small crumbles, until fully browned. Drain any excess fat.
Return the beef to the skillet and stir in the taco seasoning and tomato sauce. Simmer for about 2 minutes.
2. Prepare the Buns
